iwas diagnosed in the 4th grade by a teacher the dr.s call came 2 years later as i struggled with school. in high school i used prescription medication & became fed up with living out of a pill bottle. i tried to train myself away from my behavior finding this also lacking. as a person with a.d.d. i feel forced to do things from a learned method instad of in my natural ability this leaves me exausted & frustrated all the time ive red books & many have a pessimistic undertone this upsets me i want to hear of successes not of how a.d.d. makes you a stick in the mud i have much larger issues than having a.d.d. some say theyer caused by it but whos realy to say BEWARE:A.D.D. is a comon delima people who dont know they have it are extreemly sensitive about it so dont let others get you down somtimes they cant even see what thier going through [501]

I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was in 4th grade. My mom took me in and out of differend schools every year. I struggled allot in things like math and science, anything that required attention to detail. I had to be held back in 5th grade, wich was humiliating. My parent`s never believed in the disorder. They said it was "just an excuse" and that I needed to try harder and apply myself. This made it very hard because the people you need support when confronting a disorder like this is your family. But, if your like me and your family dosent understand talk to a licenced therapist. That has been such a wonderfull outlet for me. Don`t be afraid to talk about your disorder, your story and oppeness can inspire others too. [299]

I was a lost soul three years ago. I couldnt keep a job. I looked down on myself as did those around me. The words dumb and stupid were used to describe me on a constant basis. A million thoughts per second would shuffle through my mind. It cost me realationships. I got in to car wrecks left and right. then I was prescribed adderal and my world turned around. I took an I.Q. test and scored pretty high for a freshmen dropout, above those in the same catagory. I started geting promotions and raises.I even went back to school and got my high school daploma. I have confadence and feel great about my life. [208]

Experience...
I was diagnoised with ADHD when I was in third grade. I went to a priviate school where teachers, students, and people in general didnt except me for having it. I began to have very low self-esteem and thought that I was worth nothing. As soon as high school I became everyones friend. I learned to accept myself as who I am and realize that everyone has some kind of problem. If people make you feel like your not important its becuase they dont feel important. I have been in magazines to tell people that it is okay to have problems. My biggest advice is if you are involoved in special education at school, talk to the teachers and advisors becuase they will help you get through life. DOnt EVER be embaressed. I am nineteen years old and now I am turning back to help the ones who have helped me through school as there spokes person. Being open and respecting yourslef and life is the most beautiful thing in the world and I celebrate it everyday, and so should you. [83]
